DIY LED Health Lamp: Build a Healthy Lighting Solution
Not only are light-emitting diode (LED) lamps energy-saving and efficient, according to scientists they also have health benefits. Experts claim that LED lights' key five elements--no flickering, no mercury, no ultraviolet light, no heat and no noise--actually improve health. Many LED lamps are available in shops. If you want a less expensive option, however, make your own lamp.Things You'll Need
- LED light about 3 inches in diameter
- Electrical tape
- Tennis ball
- Empty plastic container with lid (big enough to hold a tennis ball; can be colored/embellished)
Instructions
Cover one LED light's body in electrical tape. The body is everything other than the clear bulb face. The tape adds bulk to the light bulb so it is no longer small enough to fit into, or fall from, the plastic container easily.
Drop one tennis ball inside the plastic container.
Secure the tape-covered LED light on top of the tennis ball in the container. If necessary, wrap more tape around the body of the light.
Put the lid on the container.
Shake the container up and down. That should make the LED lamp turn on and off.
