How big is your baby at 5 weeks?
At 5 weeks, your baby is about the size of a peach. They're about 1.2 to 1.5 inches long and weigh around 0.5 ounces. Their head is still disproportionately large, but their body is starting to grow and fill out. Their limbs are becoming longer and they're starting to develop some muscle tone. Their skin is still very thin and delicate.
Here are some other developmental milestones your baby may reach at 5 weeks:
* They may be able to hold their head up for a few seconds at a time.
* They may start to follow objects with their eyes.
* They may start to make cooing sounds.
* They may start to smile.
It's important to remember that every baby develops at their own pace. Some babies may reach these milestones earlier or later than others. If you have any concerns about your baby's development, be sure to talk to your doctor.
