How to Use a Baby Food Warmer
Baby food warmers are excellent tools for heating up not only baby food, but formula and breastmilk too. Warmers warm the baby food evenly and do not leave hot spots like microwaves can. They also prevent the food from overheating, which is especially important in the case of breastmilk, which can be damaged if it is heated too much. Baby food warmers can heat food and milk up within a matter of minutes, so they are extremely efficient.Things You'll Need
- Baby food warmer
Instructions
Fill the reservoir with water to the appropriate level. You may wish to use distilled water for this, as it will not leave scale build-up over time.
Select milk or food. Because fluids and solids will heat at different rates, this is an important step in order for each of these to reach the appropriate temperature in an acceptable amount of time.
Select a starting temperature. Most baby food warmers have at least high and low settings from which to choose. Even at the highest level, however, your baby's food should not become too hot to feed them. These settings are mostly based on preference.
Select the volume of food or milk you are heating. Smaller volumes will take less time, so it is important to designate the volume being heated. The baby food warmer will automatically calculate how much time is necessary to heat the food thoroughly.
