Looking taller is just a matter of altering people's perceptions of you.Things You'll Need
- Drinking Water
- 30 minutes a day
- Black clothes
- Boots, heels, or tall shoes
- Jackets with shoulder pads
- Clothes with vertical stripes
Instructions
Wear dark colors. Black, charcoal gray and navy blue will all make you look taller and thinner.
Wear jackets with shoulder pads. These not only make you look taller, but also broaden your shoulders and thus make the rest of your body look slimmer, especially your waste. This is particularly true of women.
Wear shoes that raise you up. Boots, high heels and shoes with thick soles can add up to three inches to the appearance of your height. You can even get shoes especially made for the purpose of making you look taller.
Wear vertical stripes and avoid horizontal ones. Horizontal stripes have the effect of making your body appear wider. Vertical stripes have the effect of making you look taller and trimmer.
Straighten up your spine. If you can remember to keep erect posture, it will make you look taller, more slender and more confident. A large belly will actually pull your pelvis forward and make you slouch, but if you stand tall, that belly will look smaller.
Exercise a little. You don't have to overdo it. A half hour daily of walking, running, swimming, working out at the gym or aerobic exercise at home will do wonders for someone who has gotten fat through total physical inactivity. Even working out 3 times a week will have noticeable results.
Replace soda and beer with water. It can be extremely difficult to stick to a strict food diet, but if you are someone who frequently drinks soda, beer, fruit juice drinks or any other beverage high in sugar and carbohydrates, you will probably start losing weight just by changing your drinking habits.
