Lemon & Citrus Juice for Weight Loss: A Realistic Approach
Many different weight loss programs and techniques exist and are advertised on a daily basis. Sometimes, too much information can be overwhelming, rather than helpful. Losing weight is something that should be done slowly for the best and most permanent results. By incorporating two to four servings of fruits into your diet each day, such as lemons, limes, oranges and grapefruit juice, and eating other foods in moderation you can successfully lose weight while adding important vitamins into your body.Things You'll Need
- Fresh citrus
- Knife
- 1/2-gallon pitcher
- Grapefruit juice
- Fiber powder (optional)
Instructions
Eat an orange in the morning, after you wake up. Oranges are rich in fiber and high in vitamin C, which helps the body burn fat faster by speeding up the body's processing of fat. Get that full feeling, first thing in the morning, by eating this fiber-rich food.
Slice up one lemon and one lime and squeeze the juices into a 1/2-gallon pitcher filled with water, adding the lemon and lime slices, as well. Fill a large drinking glass or travel container with your citrus water and work on drinking the entire 1/2 gallon throughout the day. Often, feeling hungry is actually a sign of dehydration and drinking citrus water will satisfy your thirst while helping to detoxify your system.
Drink a glass of grapefruit juice in the late afternoon to stave off late afternoon snack or sweet cravings. Grapefruit juice works to help the body lower the insulin level, which, in turn, helps prevent weight gain. Add fiber powder to your grapefruit juice to make it extra filling so you aren't tempted to snack before dinner.
