Sustainable Weight Loss: A Guide to Healthy Habits
Losing weight easily is not the same as losing weight quickly. Rapid weight loss may not be long-lasting. Instead, avoid crash diets and shortcuts and focus on long-term changes. The standard for weight loss comes down to burning more calories than you consume. To reduce weight easily, incorporate small things throughout the day, in addition to diet and exercise.Things You'll Need
- Small notebook
- Pedometer
Instructions
Walk as much as possible. Adding an extra 30 minutes of walking per day can help reduce weight easily. Wear a pedometer to facilitate this. Set a goal of walking at least 10,000 steps per day.
Eat copious amounts of vegetables throughout the day. They provide health benefits along with bulking up your meals. Add vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower to stir fry and reduce the amount of noodles. Substitute a large spinach salad in place of starchy rice with dinner.
Drink only water and herbal tea. Juice and soda are caloric. It is much better to eat the actual fruit rather than drink the juice. Sip green and black tea during the day, in addition to water.
Carry a small notebook with you everywhere. Write down every single thing that you eat or drink. Include water and tea in your tally. This will give you a realistic idea of where you can cut back on calories.
Eat healthy snacks. Instead of a sugary snack, go for nuts or frozen grapes. The nuts will keep you satiated and balances blood sugar. Frozen grapes will satisfy desires for sugar.
