Daily Steps for 9-Year-Olds: Activity Guidelines & Recommendations
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, children aged 6-11 years old should get 60 minutes (1 hour) or more of physical activity each day. This can include moderate-intensity activities such as brisk walking, playing basketball, or riding a bike, as well as vigorous-intensity activities such as running, jumping, or playing soccer.
The number of steps a child takes each day will vary depending on their age, weight, and activity level. A 9 year old weighing 65 pounds who is moderately active may take anywhere from 8,000 to 12,000 steps each day. A more active child may take up to 15,000 steps or more.
