How to Calculate BMI in Women
The Body Mass Index, commonly referred to as the BMI, is an indicator of a person's body fatness, and is often used to determine whether or not a person is underweight or overweight, in relation to the general population. Instructions
Open your Internet browser.
Visit the Center for Disease Control's main website (see Resources).
Perform a search for "adult bmi calculator" using the search bar at the top right of the CDC website's homepage.
Click the top link, which should read "Healthy Weight: Assessing Your Weight: BMI: Adult BMI..."
Enter your height (in feet and inches) and weight (in pounds) into the "Height" and "Weight" fields.
Click "Calculate."
