Primal Defense is a probiotic whole food supplement containing HSOs, or Homeostatic Soil Organisms. This supplement helps to relieve common digestive issues, replenishes beneficial bacteria and seems to prevent certain health conditions.

Significance

• Primal Defense contains HSOs, which are beneficial microbes found in natural foods untouched by chemicals or pesticides, and have not been pasteurized or irradiated. These probiotics regulate the digestive system, assist the immune system and can add to the overall health of the body. Consuming antibiotics or chlorinated water--as well as exposure to pesticides and pollution--can deplete naturally occurring beneficial bacteria in the body.

Benefits

• The HSOs found in Primal Defense provide vitamins, minerals, enzymes, trace elements and proteins to the body. According to Katherine Zeratsky, a registered dietitian with the Mayo Clinic, such beneficial bacterias may help to prevent the common cold or flu, but more research is necessary to confirm these preliminary findings.
