How to Blend Protein Powder & Oatmeal
Consuming protein powder in a smoothie or in water or juice can become tedious after a while. To mix things up a bit, add protein powder to a bowl of oatmeal, along with your favorite fruits and spices, for an exceptionally healthy breakfast.Things You'll Need
- Saucepan
- Protein powder
- 1/2 cup of rolled or quick oats
- Microwave-safe bowl
Instructions
Boil one cup of water in a saucepan and whisk in one to two tablespoons of protein powder. Make sure that the powder is thoroughly dissolved into the water to prevent dry, powdery clumps in your oatmeal.
Stir in ½ cup of rolled or instant oats and allow the water to return to a boil. Simmer for about one minute, stir, turn off the heat and cover.
Let the oats sit and steep for approximately five minutes if you are using rolled oats, and about one minute if using instant oats. Do not over-stir the oatmeal, which will give it a sticky consistency.
Add fruit, brown sugar, maple syrup or other flavorings prior to eating.
