How to Detox for Free
Detox, which is short for detoxification, means to rid your body of excess toxic substances. These substances can be excess weight, drugs, alcohol or even just built-up waste. Many people pay thousands of dollars for detox diets, attend detox weekend retreats or visit medical offices and day spas for detox treatments. Why spend money when you can detox for free?Things You'll Need
- Epsom salts
- Baking soda
- Raw foods
- Fresh fruit and vegetable juices
Instructions
Detox Bath
Add 2 c. Epsom salts and 2 c. baking soda to a bath filled with hot (but tolerable) water. Detox baths help eliminate toxins, fat and cellulite that have accumulated in the body. These baths can be done in the privacy of your own home for free.
Soak in the bath for 15 to 20 minutes, which should make you feel relaxed and detoxified.
Add cool water to the bath if you start to feel overheated.
Detox Diet
Choose a detox diet that suits your lifestyle. Most detox diets consist of eating only raw foods such as fruits and vegetables. A raw food diet can help people overcome many ailments such as acne, high blood pressure and anxiety, according to Alissa Cohen's Raw Food Diet website.
Check with your doctor before begin the diet to make sure it is appropriate for you.
Follow the diet for up to 10 days.
Juice Fast
Try a juice fast, which can be an excellent way to quickly detox and lose weight without eliminating the important vitamins and minerals your body needs.
Drink watermelon, apple, carrot and tomato juices (among others) during your juice fast, suggests EveryDiet.org.
Drink only fresh fruit and vegetable juices for about one week. This will detox the body and rid it of excess toxins and waste.
