Understanding Different Types of Sugar: Dextrose, Fructose, Sucrose & Lactose
Types of sugar:
- Dextrose: Also known as glucose, it is the simplest form of sugar and the body's primary source of energy. It is found in fruits, vegetables, and honey.
- Fructose: A simple sugar found naturally in fruits and honey. It is also commercially produced from corn syrup.
- Sucrose: A disaccharide composed of glucose and fructose. It is the common table sugar obtained from sugarcane or sugar beets.
- Lactose: A disaccharide composed of glucose and galactose. It is the sugar found in milk and dairy products.
Lactoses is not a type of sugar.
