Understanding Your Molars: Number, Development & Variations
There are usually 12 molars in a human mouth, four on each side of the upper and lower jaws. The first molars appear around the age of 6, the second molars around the age of 12, and the third molars (also known as wisdom teeth) usually appear between the ages of 17 and 25.
