Crest White Strips: Whitening Duration, Types & Results

Crest White Strips are an over-the-counter product for whitening the teeth. They are much cheaper than dentist-prescribed whitening trays or laser whitening. Results may vary with this is do-it-yourself product.

Five-Minute Once-A-Day Strips

• As its name indicates, this Crest White Strips product is worn on upper and lower teeth for just 5 minutes once a day.

Intensive Whitening Strips

• For a more dramatic whitening, Crest Whitestrips Classic, Premium, Premium Plus and Renewal should be worn on your upper and lower teeth twice a day for 30 minutes each time. If you prefer, you can do the two 30-minute treatments back to back, rinsing or wiping off your teeth between reapplying strips.

Advice for Sensitive Teeth and Gums

• If you experience irritation or sensitivity after using the strips, use them every other day and brush your teeth with a toothpaste for sensitive teeth. If your teeth are very sensitive, a lower concentration whitening solution over a longer period of time like that of the Five-Minute Once-a-Day strips may reduce sensitivity.
