Eliminate Mold from Your Electric Toothbrush: A Comprehensive Guide
Sometimes the charging base on an electric toothbrush head gets moldy after long periods of use without cleaning. Mold can be toxic, and should be removed immediately. Frequent cleaning of the toothbrush base is vitally important to keep mold and mildew at bay. Always replace the head of the toothbrush if mold is present. Replace the toothbrush head regularly at three-month intervals.Things You'll Need
- Cleaning toothbrush
- Chlorine bleach
- Water
- Thin, soft cloth (old or white)
Instructions
Mix chlorine bleach with water at a 1-to-10 ratio.
Remove the head from the base of the toothbrush.
Dip the cleaning toothbrush into the bleach solution.
Scrub the base of the toothbrush all around the outside until no mold remains. Follow up with clean, hot water and wipe down.
Unscrew the nut from the top of the base and clean inside with the cleaning toothbrush and bleach solution.
Dip the cloth in the bleach solution. Scrub down the charging base of the electric toothbrush.
