How to Get Propolis Off My Teeth
Propolis is a slightly waxy substance that bees harvest from certain trees and in turn humans can attain from harvesting bee hives. This natural substance can be used in a number of ways, but one popular way is as a mouth rinse to help treat any infection or pain in the mouth. If you are interested in using propolis for an oral issue or have dealt with getting it stuck on or in between teeth, here's how you can remove it.Things You'll Need
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon warm water
- Dental floss
Instructions
Brush your teeth with a soft-bristled toothbrush and a bit of toothpaste. Use gentle circles and make sure that you keep continuously brushing for three minutes so that paste can penetrate and weaken any propolis.
Swish for 30 seconds with a 1/2 cup of white vinegar and a tablespoon of warm water. While this might not taste great, white vinegar can help break down tough substances and loosen propolis, while the warm water will dilute the flavor and also loosen propolis.
Use dental floss. Gently shimmy the floss between any teeth where propolis is stuck. Shimmy it up and down between teeth and pull it around the front or back of the tooth and slide it down to remove propolis.
