A collection of yellow plaque is called xanthelasma. It is a condition marked by the accumulation of yellowish, flat, slightly elevated patches on the skin, usually around the eyes, nose and eyelids. Xanthelasma is caused by the buildup of cholesterol and other lipids in the skin and most commonly affects middle-aged and elderly adults.
