How to Repair Partial Dentures
Some people need a full set of dentures, and some only need a top or bottom set, depending on how bad their dental health is. Since your real teeth are no longer present, be sure to keep your dentures in great shape, fixing them if they need any repairs.Things You'll Need
- Denture
- Soap
- Water
- Two-part Epoxy
- Wooden Stir Stick
Instructions
First, lay out your partial dentures and its pieces on a dry and clean table.
Line up the pieces that need to be repaired to determine the exact place they belong.
Next, you will need to create your mix that will allow your broken pieces to stick together. Squeeze out an equal amount of both tubes of epoxy and stir them together.
Next, use your wooden stir stick and dab a little amount of epoxy on both the broken piece and the denture itself.
Carefully slide the two pieces and hold together for at least 30 seconds to create a bond.
After that, use your stir stick to apply a small amount over the crack where it originally broke off.
Allow the piece to dry for at least five minutes.
After five minutes, turn the denture over and apply epoxy to the other side of the crack as well.
If any other pieces need repair simply follow steps 4 through 8 until all pieces have been bonded.
Allow the epoxy to completely dry overnight.
The next morning, wash your denture with a mild soap and water and place them into your mouth.
