Why the superior vena cava have valves?

The superior vena cava does not have valves. Valves are present in veins to prevent backflow of blood. Since the superior vena cava is the main vein responsible for carrying blood from the head, neck, and upper limbs back to the heart, there is no need for valves to prevent backflow.
