Does it hurt when braces are insurted?

The process of getting braces put on does not usually hurt. There may be some discomfort as the orthodontist adjusts the brackets and wires, but this should be minor and temporary. Some people experience soreness or tenderness in their teeth and gums for a few days after getting braces, but this can be relieved with over-the-counter pain medication.
