Understanding Baby Teeth: Types, Development & Loss
Baby teeth (primary teeth, deciduous teeth, milk teeth)
The 20 primary (baby) teeth start to appear when you're about 6 months old. All 20 teeth usually come in by age 3. These teeth include the incisors, canines, and molars, which are similar to adult teeth. But baby teeth are smaller, whiter, and not as strong as adult teeth. Most children lose all their baby teeth by the time they are 12 or 13 years old.
