DIY Ice Packs with Dish Soap: A Simple & Budget-Friendly Guide
It's a good idea to keep a few dish soap ice packs in the freezer in case you suddenly need one for a sprain or a headache. They can also be used for such non-emergency purposes as keeping food or drinks cold in a lunch bag. Since you're not concerned with the soap's scent or how well it cleans your dishes, save some money by purchasing a no-frills brand from a dollar store to make the ice packs.Things You'll Need
- Measuring cup
- 1/2 cup liquid dish soap
- Plastic sandwich bag with seal
- Clear packing tape
Instructions
Pour 1/2 cup of liquid dish soap into a measuring cup.
Empty the liquid dish soap from the measuring cup into a plastic sandwich bag that has a seal.
Press against the top of the bag to remove any air inside of it.
Seal the bag.
Wrap a continuous strip of clear packing tape around the bag's seal to secure it.
Lay the plastic bag flat on it's side in the freezer. Gently press the bag's surface so the soap is evenly distributed throughout the bag.
Leave the bag in the freezer until the dish soap is completely frozen.
