How to Treat Wound Infections
Wound infections occur when bacteria enters through a break in the skin. People with weak immune systems most illnesses are more susceptible to wound infections. If you think you may have an infection, you must take action immediately.Things You'll Need
- Antiacterial soap
- Turmeric powder
- Large bandage
Instructions
Wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap and warm water for at least 30 seconds. Pay extra attention to your fingertips because bacteria can hide around your fingernails. Be sure to wash both sides of your hands. You do not want to risk allowing more bacteria to enter the wound.
Lightly sprinkle turmeric powder on the wound and cover it with a bandage. Be sure to bandage the entire wound as well as the surrounding area. Turmeric powder fights infection, kills bacteria, works as an antiseptic and speeds the healing process. This is one of the oldest and most reliable treatments for wound infections.
Remove bandage after 3 hours. Thoroughly wash the area with a mild antibacterial soap. Make sure the soap is completely rinsed out of the wound. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until the infection is completely healed.
