How Do You Put an Ace Bandage on an Ankle?
An Ace bandage is a simple elastic wrap used in a variety of medical treatments. Wrap bandages apply pressure to tissue or lock important treatment items in place, such as bandages or heat packs. If you have a sprained ankle and could use the help of an Ace bandage, getting it on is a relatively straightforward task.
Instructions
Place the bandage roll in your right hand and use your left hand to secure the loose end of the bandage onto the top of your injured foot.
Wrap the bandage around your foot at least two times, overlapping the wrap to keep it securely fastened.
Continue to wrap the bandage around your foot, moving up toward the ankle. Be sure to leave your heel exposed.
Wrap the bandage behind your ankle, then across the top of your foot. Wrap back around the bottom of the foot and then return to the back of the ankle.
Continue wrapping in a figure-eight pattern until the bandage runs short, then finish by wrapping around the ankle and up toward the calf.
Clip or tape the bandage to secure it in place.
