Effective Wart Removal: Home Remedies & Treatments
Warts are benign skin tumors caused by the human papilloma virus, or HPV. While warts generally disappear in two years, most people want immediate results for their skin condition and try the latest over-the-counter remedy or medical procedure. However, there are several home remedies available that expedite a wart's removal.-
Vitamin C
-
Vitamin C destroys the HPV virus that causes warts. Vitamin C can be used for wart removal. Simply make a paste by crushing a couple of vitamin C tablets and adding water. Place the paste over the affected area, and cover with a bandage. The ascorbic acid in vitamin C destroys the HPV virus.
Duct Tape
-
Duct tape eradicates warts by triggering an immune response against the HPV virus. Duct tape is another successful method for removing warts. Put the duct tape over the wart, and leave it alone for a week. This method works because the duct tape contains a rubber acid that triggers a stronger immune response, killing the virus.
Fruit Peel
-
Bananas contain vitamin C, an ascorbic acid that kills the HPV virus. Rubbing a lemon peel or placing a banana peel on warts helps diminish them. These fruits are high in vitamin C, which, as mentioned earlier, works to destroy the HPV virus, the main cause of warts.
