How Viruses Replicate: Understanding Viral Multiplication

A virus must enter a living host cell in order to multiply. Inside the host cell, the virus uses the cell's machinery to replicate its own genetic material and produce new virus particles. The new virus particles are then released from the host cell and can infect other cells.
