Understanding Plague: Stages, Symptoms & Causes
The three stages of plague are:
1. Bubonic plague: This is the most common form of plague, and it is caused by a bite from an infected flea. Symptoms include fever, chills, and swollen lymph nodes (buboes).
2. Septicemic plague: This is a more serious form of plague that occurs when the bacteria enters the bloodstream. Symptoms include fever, chills, weakness, and nausea.
3. Pneumonic plague: This is the most serious form of plague and it is caused by inhaling infected droplets from a person with pneumonic plague. Symptoms include fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing.
