What is an example of a superinfection?
A superinfection is an infection that occurs in a person who is already infected with another infection. An example of a superinfection is when a person who has the flu gets a bacterial pneumonia. The flu virus can damage the lungs, making them more susceptible to infection by bacteria. The bacteria that cause pneumonia can then cause a superinfection in the lungs.Viral Infections - Related Articles
