Origins of the Trojans: Mythology and History

According to Greek mythology, the Trojans were a Dardanian people who lived in the Troad region of northwestern Anatolia (present-day Turkey) and were believed to be descended from the mythical hero Tros. The Trojans are best known for their role in the Trojan War, which was fought against the Greeks over the abduction of Helen of Sparta by Paris, a Trojan prince.
