  If you have a take home test that shows a positive result for a UTI, you very likely have a urinary tract infection. These tests check for nitrates that are emitted from the bacteria that causes most urinary tract infections.

  If you have chronic cystitis and pain urinating, you probably have a urinary tract infection.
