Glycerin Suppository Insertion: Dosage & Depth for Adults & Children
Adults: For adults and children 12 years and over: Insert the suppository into the rectum, pointed tip first. Push the suppository in about 1 inch (2.5 centimeters).
Children 2 to 11 years: Insert the suppository into the rectum, pointed tip first. Push the suppository in about 1/2 inch (1.3 centimeters).
Children under 2 years: Ask your doctor.
Note: If the suppository is too soft, place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes before inserting it.
