Diaper Draping Techniques for Massage Therapy: Ensuring Client Comfort & Professionalism
If you are a massage therapist, protecting your clients̵7; modesty during a massage is important to help ensure they are comfortable and relaxed enough for the massage to be effective. There are a variety of draping techniques you can use to cover your clients during massages, keeping areas covered that you are not working on. The diaper draping method covers clients̵7; groin areas and allows you to work on their legs more freely without the sheet getting in the way.Things You'll Need
- Massage table
- Sheet
Instructions
Have your client lie face up on the table. Fold the drape sheet back to expose one of your client̵7;s legs without exposing the groin area.
Raise the exposed leg approximately six inches from the massage table. Pass the rolled section of the sheet under the raised leg and wrap it around the leg to hold it in place while working on the client̵7;s leg.
Unwrap the sheet from the client̵7;s leg after working the exposed leg. Return the sheet to its previous drape position.
Roll the sheet back from the opposite leg. Run the rolled section under the second leg in the same way to work on the client̵7;s other leg. Cover the leg again with the drape sheet after working the exposed leg to maintain your client̵7;s modesty.
