ResMed S7 Setup Guide: Quick Start & Proper Usage
Sleep apnea is a medical condition in which people stop breathing while sleeping, causing them to wake up. This process can occur many times over the course of a night. A ResMed S7 is a device designed to help those with sleep apnea breathe more regularly, and sleep better as a result. If you have a ResMed S7, you must follow the setup instructions for it to work properly.
Instructions
Place the ResMed S7 in a location where the tubing and the mask will reach the pillow on your bed. The location where the machine rests should be level and in a place where there is little chance of someone knocking it over or unplugging it. If you place the machine under the bed, make sure there is nothing covering the air intakes.
Connect the power cord for the machine into the opening on the back of the device. Run the cord to an open AC wall outlet and plug it in. Take one end of the air tubing and connect it onto the air flow outlet on the front of the machine. Connect the other end of this tubing to the outlet on your sleep mask.
Place the mask over your head and adjust the straps on the back until it is snug. You do not want the mask to be loose or it may fall off during sleep. Depending on the model of your mask, the air may go through either your nostrils or your mouth.
Flip the "Power" switch on the back of the unit to the "On" position. Once it is on, press the "Front" button on the top of the machine to begin pumping air. Lay in your bed and position yourself so that you are comfortable and have enough space to move without becoming tangled in the hose.
