Adjusting Your ResMed AutoSet: Understanding and Modifying Pressure
The ResMed Auto Set Variable Positive Airway Pressure (VPAP) device is used to treat obstructive sleep apnea. When turned on, it provides a low level of air pressure and builds to the pressure needed to keep the sleeper's airway clear. A sleep clinician sets the device so that it automatically adjusts the air pressure as needed throughout the night. The clinician can enable the device to allow its user to adjust only the air pressure level provided when the user exhales during sleep. Call your sleep clinician to request access to the device's "Settle" and "Exhalation" menus to lower the exhalation air pressure.
Instructions
Press the unit's "Start/Stop" button. The Settle screen will display after a few seconds.
Push the left button to select "Settle."
Scroll to "Exhalation" by pressing the arrow down button, and press the left button to select "Exhalation."
Push the arrow down button to lower the exhalation air pressure setting.
Save the desired setting by pressing the left button. Press the right button to exit the screen.
