Instructions for the ResMed 6 CPAP Machine
The ResMed S6 is an older model of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) device used for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. It features a microprocessor-controlled motor that maintains consistent pressure to make CPAP therapy more comfortable. It is very lightweight, and can adjust for different altitudes, so it is convenient to use when you travel. The device has a very simple interface and no user-programmable settings, so operating the S6 is very easy.Things You'll Need
- ResMed CPAP S6
- Power cord (supplied)
- Air tubing
- CPAP mask
Instructions
Set the machine on a table near the head of your bed.
Plug the small end of the power cord into the back of the CPAP machine, and the other end into a wall outlet.
Attach one end of the air tubing to the air outlet on the CPAP machine, and the other end to the air inlet on the CPAP mask.
Turn the power switch on the back of the machine to ON.
Lie in bed and put on the CPAP mask so that it seals lightly but securely against your nose or face (depending on the mask design).
Make sure the airway hose is not kinked or obstructed.
Press the Start button to start the flow of air pressure.
If you wish to have lower pressure as you fall asleep, press the 10-, 20- or 30-minute delay timer buttons on the control panel.
