Rash Prevention: Causes, Symptoms & Effective Tips
Having a rash is annoying, unattractive, irritating and itchy. Some rashes last for a couple of days and others last for a long period of time. Rashes are often caused by overexposure to the sun, excessive scratching of the skin, bathing for too long, cosmetics and detergents. Rashes come in different forms; some are red in color, can be flat, blistery and patchy, however, preventing rashes is a lot easier than you think.
Instructions
Avoid bathing excessively. Every time you bathe, the water and soap used will dry out the skin's oil that absorbs moisture. When this is done excessively, it causes a rash on the skin. Bathe no more than twice a day for 15 minutes each.
Avoid overexposure to the sun. Many people have sun allergies and are unaware of it. Use sun protecting lotion that is high in SPF (sun-protection factor) if you have to be in the sun.
Clean your hands often with a hand sanitizer. Your hands come in contact with many germs and bacteria and when touching other parts of your body, the germs and bacteria from your hands can spread and cause a skin rash.
Don't use chemical products that irritate the skin. These products include rubbing alcohol and some detergents. Use products that are hypoallergenic.
Avoid getting heat rashes. A heat rash usually appears as bumps or tiny red pimples. It occurs when heat, clothing and sweat interact. Wear light clothing and schedule outdoor activities that are not during the heat of the day to prevent heat rashes. Drinking water throughout the day will help you stay cool.
