Medical school.
To become a dermatologist, you must first earn a bachelor's degree, typically in a science-related field. You must then complete medical school and earn a medical degree (MD). After medical school, you must complete a residency in dermatology, which typically lasts for three years. Once you have completed your residency, you will be eligible to take the American Board of Dermatology's certification exam.
