How to Change EPAP on a Respironic BiPAP
Bilevel positive airway pressure is a non-invasive method of supporting breathing in patients with respiratory difficulties. It is the most common form of respiration support and helps the patient to inhale and exhale. Commonly used in intensive care units and on hospital wards, BiPAP devices are also sometimes used at home. The aim is to provide a level of support that offers an appropriate level of oxygen and ventilation, but at the same time is comfortable and tolerable for the patient. Making small adjustments to the facial mask and level of pressure achieves these goals.
