Instructions for Resmed Elite 2
A Resmed Elite II is a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine, a small electrical unit that can blow air at a high enough pressure to keep a patient's airway open. This machine often negates the need for tracheal intubation in cases of respiratory failure. It can be used at home, but requires a prescription from a physician.
Instructions
Plug in the machine and place it near the patient.
Fit one end of the included plastic air tubing over the circular air outlet on the front of the unit to secure it. Fit the remaining end of the tubing into the port on the front of the mask.
Press the "Power" button on the control panel on top of the unit to turn it on. Press the "Left" arrow key on the control panel to enter mask setup mode.
Press the "Down" arrow key to scroll through the list of mask options until you come to the mask you are using on the unit. This information can be found printed on the front of the mask itself or on the mask packaging.
Press the "Left" key to apply the mask once you come to your particular model.
Place the mask over the patient and press the "Start/Stop" button to begin operation.
