Bronchi: Definition, Function & Types - A Medical Overview

The plural form of bronchus is bronchi, they are the primary branching subdivisions of the trachea. There are two primary bronchi, the right primary bronchus, which gives rise to three lobar bronchi, leading to the three lobes of the right lung, and the left primary bronchus which gives rise to two lobar bronchi leading to the two lobes of the left lung.
