Correct compression and ventilation for 2 rescuer adult?
For two rescuer adult CPR, the compression and ventilation ratio is 30:2. This means that for every 30 chest compressions, you should give 2 rescue breaths.
Compressions
1. Place the heel of one hand on the center of the person's chest, between the nipples.
2. Place your other hand over your first hand and interlace your fingers.
3. Position yourself so that your shoulders are directly over your hands and your arms are locked.
4. Give chest compressions at a rate of 100 to 120 compressions per minute.
5. Push down 3.8 to 5 cm (1.5 to 2 inches) on the chest.
6. Allow the chest to recoil fully after each compression.
Rescue breaths
1. Open the person's airway by tilting their head back and lifting their chin.
2. Pinch the person's nose shut with your thumb and forefinger.
3. Cover their mouth with your mouth and give a rescue breath that lasts about 1 second.
4. Watch for the person's chest to rise.
5. Give 2 rescue breaths before starting the next round of chest compressions.
Continue this cycle of 30 compressions and 2 breaths until the person starts breathing or help arrives.
