Oregano Oil for Whooping Cough: Benefits & Usage
Whooping cough, also known as pertussis, is a respiratory condition caused by bordatella pertussis bacteria. The first signs of whooping cough are sneezing and a runny nose, but after a couple of days, dry coughing spells will begin. They can last for a minute and cause a person to have trouble taking in a breath, which causes a whooping sound. Oregano oil is derived from a plant and has antibacterial effects that can work to relieve whooping cough.Things You'll Need
- Oregano oil
- Coconut oil
- Teaspoon
- Tissue
Instructions
Fill 1 tsp. with coconut oil.
Add 1 to 2 drops of oregano oil to the coconut oil.
Swallow the mixture up to four times a day.
Pour a couple of drops of oregano oil onto a tissue before going to bed.
Place the tissue beside your pillow. Breathing in oregano oil is another way to use the oil to treat whooping cough.
