Fermentation: Understanding Anaerobic Respiration
Anaerobic respiration is also known as fermentation. It is a process in which energy is released from glucose in the absence of oxygen. This process is carried out by microorganisms such as yeast, bacteria, and fungi. During fermentation, glucose is broken down into simpler compounds such as ethanol, carbon dioxide, and lactate. The energy released during this process is used to synthesize ATP.Respiratory Disorders - Related Articles
