Parts of the Respiratory System

* Nose: The nose is the main organ of the respiratory system. It is responsible for filtering, warming, and moistening the air we breathe.

* Pharynx: The pharynx is a muscular tube that connects the nose and mouth to the larynx.

* Larynx: The larynx, also known as the voice box, is a cartilaginous structure that houses the vocal cords.

* Trachea: The trachea is a long, thin tube that connects the larynx to the lungs.

* Bronchi: The bronchi are two large branches of the trachea that enter the lungs.

* Bronchioles: The bronchioles are smaller branches of the bronchi that lead to the alveoli.

* Alveoli: The alveoli are small, sac-like structures in the lungs where gas exchange takes place.

* Lungs: The lungs are two large, spongy organs located on either side of the heart. They are responsible for gas exchange, the process by which oxygen is taken into the bloodstream and carbon dioxide is released.

* Diaphragm: The diaphragm is a large, dome-shaped muscle that separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity. It is responsible for controlling breathing.
