What are red bumps that not itchy and associated with jacuzzis?
Pseudomonal folliculitis or "hot tub rash" is a bacterial infection of the skin caused by the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
The bacteria may become abundant in hot tubs/jacuzzis if the water in not properly sanitised (i.e. the chlorine levels are too low and/or the ph of the water is out of the desired range).
Pseudomonal folliculitis is characterized by a rash of small, red, itchy bumps that typically appear on the trunk and extremities. The bumps can also be filled with pus. The rash can be accompanied by fever, chills, and body aches.
