What is the function of side clamp in IV set up?
Side Clamp- For controlling/ stopping IV fluid / medication incase of infiltration, patient coughing or if the line needs to be changed.
- It is also sometimes used to adjust and maintain the gravity controlled IV flow rate if not using an electronically set infusion pump when delivering medication or fluid intravenously.
