What is the result of a strain?
A strain- occurs when a muscle or tendon is overly stretched or torn.
- It is a common form of sports injury, and usually affects large muscles such as those of the back, leg and arm.
- Sprains occur when a joint is twisted, sprained, or damaged in some other way.
- Symptoms include pain when performing certain activities, muscle spasms, weakness and tenderness in the affected muscle.
- In serious cases, a strain can cause bruising and swelling.
