Ovulation During Early Pregnancy: What You Need to Know
No, a person cannot be pregnant and still ovulate in the first trimester.
Ovulation is the process by which an egg is released from the ovary. After ovulation occurs, the egg travels through the fallopian tube where it can be fertilized by sperm. If the egg is not fertilized, it will be reabsorbed into the body.
Pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants in the uterus. Once implantation occurs, the body produces hormones that prevent ovulation from occurring again. These hormones maintain the pregnancy until the baby is born.
