Boost Sperm Production Naturally: Diet, Lifestyle & More
High sperm production is essential to successful conception, according to John D. Gordon and Michael DiMattina, authors of "100 Questions and Answers About Infertility." Although there are medications that can increase your sperm count and vitamin supplements that claim to work, some of the easiest ways to boost sperm production can be done for little to no cost. A slight modification in your diet, a change of clothes and avoiding certain environments can improve sperm production and prevent killing healthy sperm.
Instructions
Eat antioxidant-rich foods. Pomegranates, berries, tomatoes, watermelon, grapefruit, broccoli and strawberries are just a handful of fruits and vegetables that are high in vitamin C, folate and lycopene.
Consume more carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are necessary for maintaining energy and body functioning, especially complex carbohydrates found in whole-wheat bread, beans and oat bran.
Avoid tight underwear. According to Gordon and DiMattina, switching from briefs to boxers improves blood circulation, which can help increase sperm production.
Limit exposure to extremely high temperatures. Hot tubs, jacuzzis and hot baths may feel relaxing, but can lower your sperm production when exposed to the temperature for long periods, according to Gordon and DiMattina.
