Breast Tenderness & Early Pregnancy: What to Expect

Tenderness or soreness in the breasts (mastalgia) can be an early sign of pregnancy that starts around one or two weeks after fertilization takes place (even before a missed period) and might get noticeably more evident during the second half of a woman's menstrual cycle. However, breast tenderness is highly variable among pregnant women and not every woman experiences them in early pregnancy.
